Spring Registration now open for all divisions
Northwest Little League (NWLL) is pleased to announce the opening of registration for the spring 2012 baseball season. You may register online at Northwest Little League's Registration Site. If your son or daughter is a baseball player who will be 9 years old or older by April 30, he or she will be required to report for tryouts. Tryouts will be held in late February - further detail on tryouts will be distributed soon and will also be posted on the this website. Note that all age-appropriate players who attend tryouts will be assigned to teams. For the AAA and Majors levels (ages 9 through 12), the tryouts are designed to ensure that more skilled players are evenly distributed among the teams so that games are competitive. Everyone at the ages of 13 through 16 is guaranteed a slot on a Prep-Senior recreational team (based at Friendship field). All players at this age level should attend the tryout to ensure placement on an appropriate team. Please check the www.nwlldc.org website for regular updates on the spring season.
AAA and Majors tryouts scheduled for Feb 26 at Georgetown Visitation
You must be pre-registered in order to participate in tryouts. If you have not already registered, go here for online registration. Your registration must be received no later than February 22 for participation in tryouts.
All details including times and directions available in the flyer.
Mayor Gray presented the Northwest Little League All Stars with a Certificate of Achievement. The team coaches are Matt Donnellan and Jim Plantholt, and the manager is Andy Seto. The league president is Paul Donnellan. The players are George Anninos, Jack Bailey, Matthew Dulaney, Henry Furlong, Spenser Hyun, Owen Isaacs, Sydney Love-Baker, Ty Love-Baker, Ethan Roth, Ben Schwartz, Alex Snape, Luke Wallis and Max Whisnant.
The team's road to the regional playoffs, and the Mayor's press conference, included a thrilling comeback in the final inning of their game against Capitol City. Down two and with only one strike left, the Northwest team pulled together 5 hits, winning the District's Little League title.
"The whole time, even when we were down to our last strike, we still believed that we could win," said Ethan Roth, who spoke on behalf on the team. "Not just thought we could win, but we actually believed. So, I guess, just a lesson learned."

No intentional walks are to be issued. Pitcher and catcher may not intentionally walk a batter by having the catcher stand up to receive an intentional ball. It is the league's philosophy that pitchers and batters are to be aggressive and intentional walks are contrary to this philosophy.
