The Northwest Washington Little League ran its Summer Program again in summer 2008. NWLL formed six teams – 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, and a combined 14U and 15U. The program was open to all players who are at least 8 and under the age of 15 as of May 1st, 2008.

The teams practiced regularly at Friendship and other nearby fields, played in local area tournaments, and played non-tournament games with other DC area youth baseball organizations. Players of all ability levels were invited to every practice, and almost everyone has played in a number of games throughout the summer. The coach of each team selected a team to compete in any given week from among the players present that week.

Games were played at various locations in the DC area. Some games were at Friendship. Tournaments involved some additional travel time and were be as far away as Bowie, MD.

Summer baseball began the week of June 9 and practices were in the evenings to accommodate players attending day camps. The program continued through the end of July. Players did not need to be available every week in order to participate.
